NEW PROPS

Adding unique props can add a fun "spin" on any photo session. I am forever grateful to have the support of my family. My mom surprised me this Christmas with the new props in this session. I look forward to see what unique expressions we capture using them.

Taking Time

What a great week-end! I was able to spend time with Sarah doing our 2nd of 4 pottery class. I was able to do a little shopping with my mom which is always fun. Matt and I went to church and really enjoyed the message this week. We also went to the movies and saw Black Swan, that was only Saturday.

On Sunday, Matt and I woke up and met Abbie and Diana at Lake Poway. I enjoyed hanging home and editing, catching up on Facebook and relaxing while it rained outside!

It is hard to believe tomorrow is the last day of January. Matt and I signed up for the Rock-n-Roll 1/2 marathon. He is doing his first Triathalon in March.

Fun Times

My friends and family are amazing. Here are two special people that love life and each other. I am honored that our friendship is now combined with sharing our talents.

Being a photographer and having dancers and other artists in my life is a true blessing.

Here are a couple photos with special quotes that remind me of these two awesome people!

New Year New Ideas

Have you ever been in a rut where you feel like you can't move forward or don't have inspiration for new ideas? I was starting to feel that way. Recently, I was able to spend time with a friend where we just took our cameras downtown and had fun. We ended up giving ourselves a self assignment of finding something that represented Martin Luther King Jr., (Since it was Monday MLK Jr., Day). While looking for leading lines, light and inspiration, we stumbled across a bench with words, we found the word Dream. We were thrilled, turning around we found a mural where someone used chalk and made a multicultural drawing with the word Dream on it. Finally we turned the corner and found sculptured hands that were in the shape of sign language letters spelling out...yep you guessed it "Dream"...!! Pam finally realized we were standing at a park dedicated to Martin Luther King Jr.,!
Taking the time to breath, saying a little prayer for renewed energy this day was a gift!

Last Friday, I was able to attend a conference about all the Social Network Options and learned how to utilize: Facebook, Blogging, Twitter, Linked-in, and You Tube. They mentioned that these sources will be more popular than email.

Facebook: A great source for connecting with friends, sharing photos
Twitter: Quick blasts where people tweet news about themselves.
Blogging: A place to share ideas and promote what you know or can be used as a diary
Linked-in: Considered a professional site, used for information that may be used someday to replace resumes. Getting recommendations on this site can be used as letters of recommendations. Use a professional photo on this site.
You Tube: A great way to promote visual learning.

I will share more about these networks, my journey and new ideas in future blogs.
I can't believe this is the last week of January, 2011. Enjoy!!

Gearing up for the New Year

It was great having time off during the holidays to regroup and reconnect with what my goals are for Photos By Sweetpea. I look forward to working everyone again this year and continue to strive for more unique and individual images. I truly feel blessed to have the support of so many friends and family members as I continue to grow as photographer. I will post more photos here soon. Have a great week!

2011

I am not sure where 2010 went. I do know it was an amazing year and I really want to thank my family and friends for their support. I definitely grew with my photography. So many highlights. I think going to West Coast School each year has made the biggest difference in my photography career. I love learning and growing in this area. My goals continue to be education in this area and get out more just for fun!!
Again, thank you to all for your support, encouragement and allowing me to capture priceless memories for you.
